Yeah, it's better, but still not 100%. We're getting there. More fixes coming.

Just a small point of etiquette here, but most other drums I've been on will give you a heads up when they're doing server maintenance. i.e, there should have been a thread pinned that mentioned that you guys were monkeying around Monday and Tuesday. This thread shouldn't have had to be flooded by members to find that out.

Well, looking at your title, I don't see my complaint being your problem per se (my bad) but my point remains salient.

Well, giving the liaison the info after it's already in progress is kinda throwing said liaison under the bus.

New sig!

Also, I'm stealing this one.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

In all seriousness, though, there is no direct line to a guy to fix stuff. The best I can do is pass things along.

In all the time I've been associated with 'NN, things like forum updates and server swaps have been almost universally reported to us (your humble Admins) either after the fact or "in progress." This has goobered some of reader50's finest, most elegant duct tape work on many occasions.

I do not think it's a matter of the top brass "not caring" about users, but rather that there is one branch that deals with the hardware and software and another branch that "keeps up" the forums, and there is no cross-connect between the two. Not the way I'd organize things, but it ain't my backyard or my ball. However, the more often we can report "this situation ticked off a bunch of users because...", the better the odds that something will be done about it.

Interestingly, if you browse the lounge, it shows me having bumbled a PL post, even though it doesn't show both in search or once you enter the actual sub-forum.

That's usually how I realize it's happening.

Of course, no one is reading our posts here because no one knows the thread is bumping.

I tried reporting the post, but it got a timeout. I'll try reporting a "pre-bug" post.

When did the bumping/not bumping thing stop? I do "find new posts" and don't generally dwell in the forum lists.
