I am playing movies through my computer with a mini-stereo cable from my home stereo to my Powerbook. I just have two speakers and no sub. It is very bassy even though I have the bass on my stereo amplifier turned all the way down. Is there a hack to control the bass and treble settings? Also, does anyone know if buying a set of computer speakers/sub would be better for a Mac set-up than playing it through a home stereo?

I don't know of a hack. Does the audio-equalizer feature of the DVD Player not work?

Aha!! I didn't know that was there. I was looking under preferences. Thanks!
