The girlfriend got me a scanner today for last week's birthday so I made myself a desktop pic. The theme's basically a port of Windows 3.11 that I've been working on as a run through of what has to be done to complete a theme, I figure I'll be able to come up with ideas for themes once I have a full understanding of how the resources work together.

One of the many wonderful options of FruitMenu (and honestly my favorite out of all of them). I kept seeing it in screenshots on ResEx but there was never any other apps listed running that would explain it, and I knew they weren't all running 10.0. So I finally started emailing around and posting on all these other forums until I found it.

I wouldn't put my computer on such a carpet... the static electricity is everywhere... well it may sound stupid but i had a computer that suffered from it...

Well, its not "on" the carpet. It sits on a metal CPU stand and it is also grounded to the electrical system so no static....

nah... the white is cool!
but consider making the text in the menubar
and menu's white too so it matches
and instead of green make all the elements
(finder toolbarbuttons, menu text etc) black
when highlighted or pressed.
for instance the finder viewstyle button
would be black on selected style, gray
when pressing and white when not selected

Well I went with white as the default normal state because of how tangible buttons actually work. A button for instance on the front of your Mac is a particular color (the power button is white), when you press it it wouldn't get lighter it would get darker because it is recessing into the front of the tower. The green is derived from the power LED on front of the X Serves which are also metal like the new G5. The original Cerbero mock up had very dark widgets as a normal state which males it difficult to have a pressed state that is darker and inidicates a widget being pressed into the titlebar.
If everyone is really wanting the darker widgets I guess I could change the behavior from "black" normal state to the green over state then back to the black but with a touch more depth when pressed.
The green is aesthetically very important to the theme though so its not going anywhere. When complete though I will be making color variants so speak out.
If there are more responses to this subject in this thread I will create a new thread.

Check out the "elements" psd I sent you with the others (at least I think I did ). It has a lighter grey for the normal state, darker for hover, and black for the 'down' state. I'm not too keen on the green stuff myself, at least not like that. Maybe with a bit more work though, to make it actually look LED light? Anyway, looks good overall so far
