O.K, this is kind of a stupid question, but...
I found this deal, $450 for a 350 mhz yikes g4.
They say they are a company selling their computers, and selling for cheap because they are not in NYC but in a neighboring state(they put an ad in a NYC classifieds board).
Do you think this price is right? Should I be careful?
Thanks for your input.

I am skeptical. Try looking around and see what other people are selling that or a similer system for. Also, could you go and pick it up? or is it just shipping?

Remember that the Yikes! G4s are pretty old now and if it's a 350mhz g4, with only pci video, and such, 3 years old, and probably worn down pretty heavily (you never know), it's not a surprise.

I think it's a fair price. If you are looking for a G4, go ahead and get it.

That price is VERY low.
Find out exactly what is included, and if they offer a warranty, guarantee against dead components, etc.

I would also be wondering if it might be stolen.

I have the same G4, three years old, maxed out in ram, running OS X and still serves me well. It's a good machine. It might be slow if you want to do heavy graphic stuff (I use mine to work with After Effects, Lightwave...) but I'm planning to keep it for another while. If you can inspect it first (even triying it), it might be a good deal.

Yeah, if that thing is in good shape then it's a pretty good deal at that price. I've got a 400 Yikes I'm trying to sell for a lot more than that.
