I just bought a new Ti800 and am currently experiencing the "heating" issues I had read and heard about. Now, personally, the heat coming from my laptop here doesn't particularly bother me, but given the price I just paid for this bad boy I would like to keep it around for as long as possible. I was thinking of getting the RoadTools Podium Pad, seeing as how I'm using this as a primary computer, but are there any better options out there for getting some clearance underneath the machine so you can get some airflow? Thanks!

airflow is not the best option to get the surface cold. In basic physics there is a phenomenum described called the "black beamer" (dont know if right translated, in german its called the "schwarzer Strahler"): Black surfaces emitt and absorb infrared radiation like all other parts of the spectrum with the highest efficiency! Simply put your little baby on a plate of dull black painted aluminum (or copper, or silver ). You will see how cool itll run

there were some aluminum "plates" that were for sale for the Pismos...but I forgot the web address. I also recall that it was a japanese maker.
Sorry, thats all i remember.
Actually, a using a laptop over a glass table does a terrific job cooling notebooks.
