I was attempting to empty the trash on my iBook (running 10.2.1) and I keep getting the message:
"Sorry, the operation could not be completed b/c an unexpected error occurred (Error Code -8062)."
Anyone have any idea what that is? I have about 100 items in my trash and I'd rather not go through each item one by one to try and figure out what's going on...

Have you tried doing a "sudo rm" on the files from the Terminal?

How do you know that it isn't a permissions issue? I'm not challengeing, just asking. It just sounds like a permissions thing to me though.

I finally ended up doing that and it worked. Still not sure what the problem was in my trash tho'. Subsequent files that I put in there delete just fine.

I suppose I can't say for 100% certain, but the fact that it's a pretty fresh install of OS X 10.2.1 (less than a week old) and that all of the file that were attempting to be deleted were all new files I had created in Dreamweaver and Fireworks for a web site led me to believe that everything should be assigned to me as owner. But I supposed something could have gotten glitched up.
But usually when it's a permission issue, doesn't a dialogue box stating it as such appear?
