short of going through every forum on the planet, what are the best way(s) of getting traffic to your site. (this thread is not intended to get people to go to my site) I just want feedback on promotion

Include the words "free XXX". You will experience immediate and incredible results!
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

The keywords are defined in the meta tags.

The other thing you can do to promote your site is to somehow get it mentioned on Slashdot. This isn't always easy, but there's nothing better for getting your hit rate to spike.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

Another thing I thought of. Hack the DNS system to make ********** point to your site. First off, that will hit almost every forum on the planet, and since roughly a quarter of all links on the Net point there, increased throughput is guaranteed.

[NOTE: This post is meant as a joke. I do not advocate hacking the DNS system. And for the love of God, don't go to the address I mentioned!]
