Does anyone know of a solution that would allow me to use a single projector to display the contents (monitors) of two separate computers simultaneously?

I am doing a product demo in about a month that will require being able to display Computer A and Computer B on a single screen at the front of the room.

Perhaps there's some sort of dual input adapter that would allow this? Anyone have any suggestions?

Both computers have to be visible at the same time? Hmm. If not, you could of course just use a KVM to switch between the two.

If they must be visible at the same time and you only have one projector, I think you would need some type of advanced video input panel with a video wipe that could be stopped halfway through the wipe.

I don't know off hand what could do this. A second projector would probably be much easier and cheaper.

Both screens definitely have to be visible at the same time. The demo involves actually showing two different people on two separate computers interacting collaboratively via web 2.0 cloud-based technologies.

Before I go the two projector route, which honestly seems like a hack approach at solving the problem, I want to first be certain that there is no adapter of some sort or special multi-input projector of that would allow me to pull this off. If there isn't, then the dual projector approach might be my only option. Want that to be a last resort though.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

I can't imagine there is a projector with this feature built in, its too specialist.

I'd bet the only way to do it with a single projector would be to use some kind of video capture rig. Great if you have one, pricey if you don't.

Failing that, could you use Apple remote desktop or screen sharing + Teamviewer on the machine hooked to the projector and put the screens of two remote computers side-by side that way?

This NEC supports multiple inputs and output, but it's via a picture-in-picture type execution. Never seen one that gives equal real estate to each computer.

You're looking for a video switcher.

Computers A & B connect to the video switcher (probably VGA, but maybe DVI). Video switcher will have "mosaic" effect to put multiple screens into one screen. Video switcher out goes to projector. You can probably rent one for $150-250/day.
