It seems my Finder (icon) doesn't like the Dock… cause it wants to leave…


or maybe it is shy, cause it is hiding behind System Preferences…

And, this is what happens if I place the Dock at the left margin of the Desktop…


Happened after removed Dashboard icon from the Dock. The Finder icon becomes useless cause you can't even clic on it. Force quit/restarting the Finder didn't help, going to restart the Mac right now…

Well, restarting solved it, thanks god cause it was definitely leaving…

maybe you should try reinstalling the theming software used for the dock. i have the same one, but i just can't remember what it's called.

but…  I don't use any of such software, I failed to take a screenshot but another weirdo was the Dashboard icon moving to the right of the trash icon. I guess the Dock went bananas and that's all. It's solved now.

Did you try restarting the Dock?

Just the Finder but as stated before bug is gone after restarting the Mac.

Well, for future reference, the Dock and Finder are separate processes, so relaunching the Dock would have been the thing to do. Weird though.

Wow, I'd freak if I looked and saw my Finder icon acting that way Definitely was time to killall the Dock. Thanks for sharing, I hadn't seen that happen to the Finder icon before. Hopefully, it won't reoccur.
