I recently installed a 80gig Snap Server (Snap Appliance) on a 10/100 ethernet network for a small newspaper. They only have 6 Macs and a couple of printers on the network, so we're not talking about a big time environment here.

They use the Snap Server to store all of their common items for the newspaper including editorial content and advertising information. They're pretty happy with the setup except for the slowness they experience when using Sherlock to search for a file on the Snap Server. The searches are glacial although the disk, at this point anyway, doesn't have a monsterous amount of data on it.

Can anyone suggest a way to speed up searches over the network. Other network transactions seem to be fairly lively, so I don't think there's a problem with the networking itself. All the Macs connected to the network are using OS 9.1 and 9.2. Thanks in advance for any help someone can provide.
