Yep. Went to Summerfest and saw BT... wow... opened up with a live remix (on his PB G4 with glowing Apple, no less) of "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana.... then later on he played a few of his own songs, like dreaming, and his new single, but then what I thought was REALLY cool is he remixed "Blinded By The Light", that classic rock song... not Springsteen... the original version.

Then Crystal Method came out... they just had two turntables, mixer, and a mike, and some great vinyl. Their set wasn't as 'cool' as BTs, but it was def. easier to dance to. Anyway, they sorta showed up BT by spinning a KICK ASS mix of Nirvana. One thing that was especially cool was that I caught a water bottle they were throwing out. The irony is this: On Nov 28th 2001, I was at a Crystal Method concert in Milwaukee at the Rave, and my then girlfriend now fiance Kristin caught a water bottle they threw into the crowd.. Looks like TCM is down with my relationship.

Anyway, the next day we went down to Chicago and hit up the Congress club and saw BT (again), TCM (again), John Digweed. If any of you were there, I was the guy who drank about 6 redbull and vodkas and was bouncing off the walls. Heh. Sweeeeet.

I'll have to jump in here. No, the original is not by Manfred Mann... Springsteen's is the original version (and yes, he wrote it as well).

Err... well.. .. it's the version you always hear on the radio or TV or whatever. The most popular version, regardless of who wrote it.

I was there too, went with a couple buddies; we live about 9 hours from Chicago. It was an awesome trip. I was about second row, right side. I wish everynite was as great as that.
