I'd prefer that my computer worked for a long time rather than smacking it on the side of the screen.

I installed it today, and it's great! Though, I think I'll be smacking the chassis of the computer instead of the screen. I'm actually more concerned about the longevity of the hard drive than anything else. Hopefully someone will come up with a nice preference pane that lets you set the sensitivity with a slider and can detect when you're plugged into the wall. (So that you can limit your smacking only to desktop use, using very light touches. I set my sensitivity way down, and it worked great on the desk, but it went bonkers when I tried to use it in my lap!)

No, that is switching between virtual desktops. Virtual desktops are basically like having two monitors on one screen, and switching between them. They're common in *nix window managers and you can get virtual desktop software for Mac and Windows as well.

I don't really think it could do much damage, afterall laptops are designed to be carried around. I'd maybe worry about the fragile looking iSight, but the hard drive should be fine in the Macbooks, seeing as it's clad in rubber and all.

Someone should make it so the computer whimpers when you smack it, like on QuantumLeap when Al smacks Ziggy.
