Does anyone know how much network traffic Rendezvous creates? Compared to say SLP? I know that it's minimal on a network of just a few computers, but what about a network with over 100? Just wondering if I should turn it off and use SLP instead.
Thanks

Rendezvous should be no worse than SLP. I don't believe either is a "chatty" protocol. Service lookup is done on an "as needed" basis, not as a broadcast every 30 seconds like AT.

Not much. I don't know the details, but afaik it uses DNS multicast packages to produce very little traffic.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

AppleTalk Phase II also only broadcasts when needed.
