Hello,

I would like recommendations for software that will help detect and delete duplicate files. I have a laptop with a filled hard drive with multiple duplicated files, especially large powerpoint presentations, that occured after I merged contents of two computers, and a botched restore from an external drive.

Reviews for spring cleaner have not been good. Are there any suggestions?

Not sure about generic files, but there are some applications to do things like remove duplicates of iTunes songs... etc... here's what versiontracker shows for "duplicates".
