Is it a competition to see which country can become the most idiotic? Really. Is it?

Manhattan justice rules four-year-old can be sued for negligence after she hit pensioner while riding her bike | Mail Online
A four-year-old girl who was on her bike with stabilisers when she knocked down a pensioner can be sued for negligence, a Supreme Court Justice has ruled.

Okay in reality they are seeking damages from the parents, so slightly less ridiculous.

Yeah I saw this story earlier today. I fail to see why the girl is being sued directly. It seems that the old lady's estate could have just sued the parents and called it a day. WTF do they expect to collect from a four year old?

As I read the story, Jacob Kohn seems to be the friend that was riding his bike with the little girl. It wasn't a very well constructed sentence for sure.

Because they can! Really, it amounts to nothing, I think, because it's unlikely that the four year old has any assets. But if it did....

I'm just wondering what the 4 year olds have been told about this. Hearing more about it at a trial can't be good for them. Scared straight?
