Not surprised it was that game, that it happened on.

I submit to the will of the people on this matter.

No shit, in other news my friend let me borrow his NES a while back with Zelda, his original savegame from the mid-80s is still present and usable.

The best part is I think they predicted those game saves would never last that long.

Yeeeeeoooowch...
Sorry about that. At this point, it's hard to be surprised by anything horrible that happens around that series.

Two questions:
About when are we doing the relaunch, I'll need a few days notice so I can tell my lady friend important matters are at hand.
Secondly, will I need the prerelease 2?

Being Halloween weekend means I actually may <gasp> go out and do things. Friday will probably be fine though anytime after 9:30, for I am a member of a bowling team.

Y'all just let me know when. We have a massive Fall party Saturday, but I'm only expected to be there for an hour or so. Of course, all my plans are subject to change, considering my loinfruit is to make his appearance at any moment.

So out of boredom I began a 1.9Pr4 survival game just to get my legs under me with the new what-have-yous.
Did a bit of mining at my diamond zone (y=12) and ran into a huuuuuuge ravine. Multiple lava falls and waterfalls, entire floor of the ravine is a huge lava pool and it is easily 40 blocks high by hundreds of blocks long. I'm digging this.

Not long after I stumbled into an abandoned mine. Huuuuge amount of track for the taking and overall a completely enormous amount of exploring to be done.
As a group exploring underground seems like it is going to be way cooler and more intense.

Maybe I just need a Minecraft skin that has baby feces all over it.
The experience, terrain, and behavior of the update is just different enough to make the game feel fresh. I share your sentiment, sek.

I wandered around a bit on my own in a new singleplayer map, but it seemed very dull without you all.

Ha...I faced the same problem. It feels so horribly empty, and so much of the fun of the multiplayer was stopping by people's places every other day to see what they'd been up to.

It makes the trifecta of Minecraft complete.
Mine, then build, then get bored with both and go check out what other people have mined and built.

There's no more 'toggle fog' function, which is annoying because even at max draw distance you still can't see very far.

Good lord...
So far Jawbone and I are chomping at the bit, Dakar will go along with us, that only leaves Andi and you, Blaze, to voice your thoughts on what night we should designate for this party.

Well then it's either Andi and/or the fruit of Jawbone's loins that have final say.
Anywho...
Now after playing the 'new' survival for a couple days I have a good feel for it. The hunger meter isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, however, healing over time is going to have a direct impact of the length and brazen-ness of our spelunking trips. Plus, now that chickens and cows give you meat (even zombies) you won't be dying to get your hands on a pork chop. One thing that bothers me is when your hunger gets to empty (or full?) you start taking damage, which I understand, but it bumps you around like regular damage...annoying.
I can't speak for the varied terrain, since my spawn point was a barren frozen wasteland. But frozen rivers look nice I suppose. No trees to speak of though... Really it's been the subterranean ravines that have impressed me the most. Their height is daunting and they are littered with lava falls, lava pools, and steep drops.
Creepers are apparently waaaaay more powerful. A close blast is enough to kill you with full health (no armor). Best story yet happened right after I took that screen above. Creeper got me in the midst of all those waterfalls and lava. All my items then proceeded down a conveyor belt of water into a pool of lava.

I've always though that FPS were a bad fit for the console / controller paradigm. If you have to add auto aim or over-sized hit boxes your doing it wrong. That and Minecraft is an OpenGL monster, does the xbox even support opengl?

FPSes work just fine on Xbox, but playing Minecraft on a controller seems like playing Sim City on SNES...

I'd like hotbar switching better on a controller, but that's about it.
As for the coding, I was under the impression they rebuilt the code for this version.

Define late, theres a bit of movement without keeping people up really late unless you don't care about the day 1 part.

The address would have been the same. I refuse to appologize for mother nature, god, or PSNH.
I'm chilling in the library ATM. My place is all the way down to 52.

Oooo, I read about that, and didn't connect the dots. That sucks for you, Blaze.
We're freezing down here too. It's a chilly 74ยบ.
(and yet, somehow, we lost power for a bit last Friday)
