Did anyone successfully mute their Apple starting sound for their iBook?
Besides muting the volume before you turn off the apple, I like to find out other method in muting the starting sound.
How to? Freeware?

If you turn the volume off before shutting down, startup should be silent. Elsewise, plug in headphones before startup.
There are probably other alternatives.

Try searching the forums for this, I remember reading about it. A few answers I remember were pressing the mute button during startup, and then there was some code that did it too. Hope you can find it.

Try using tinkertool system... a multi system maintenance app that has one of its options to mute the start up chime...
