the new macbook just came out with core 2 duo and i was wondering if i should buy it now or wait a few weeks since there was so much problems with the 1st ones

They're really just updates to the existing architecture - which is a good thing, since it means they've made tweaks without doing anything too risky. Grab one now if that's your thing.

Hey..I just got my C2D black 2ghz. Bumped the ram to 1.5 gb on my own.

Runs great. I'm streaming Carlos Mencia Not for the easily offended movie stored on my XP box ... sending a group email, widgets on the desktop running...surfing the web and downloading ...all right now as I post to you. No lag. No hesitation.

DONE!

How's the heat??? Are you able to measure any Core Duo - like temps????

There is a bit of heat...but not much. I'm in the 120F range.

120F is a hot summer's day in Nevada, I'd say - it'd be hot if that was the outside temperature, but it barely registers when it's inside a laptop.

Yeah... 120 is laptop temps..... and I DO use this in my lap. Heat is NOT AN ISSUE. They truely did work out the bugs inthis one.

Heat is definitely not an issue. Seen a high of about 65 celsius in 5 days of use.
