On battery with Airport and Finder on I got an 80.17. sounds pretty slow compared to the powerbooks and powermacs but I can't complain

Check the Energy Saver system preference and see if your Processor Performance is set to Highest (it's in the Options tab).

EDIT: grammar fix

Download Xbench, open it, click start.

It is a good idea to quit all programs and stop anything you are doing to get the best results.

Are you guys runnning XBench after a fresh restart? Are you running them with apps in the background?

I get a measly 68.43-70.12 with my iBook G4/800/640MB RAM, with Safari, iChat, Adium, Mail, and other apps in the background. Haven't tried running XBench after a restart.

I didn't restart, merely closed all apps. Going to run it again the next time I have to restart (probably after getting the Java update).

Nowhere close to a reboot with no other apps (unless you want to include LaunchBar)
