Hi I've just 'discovered' the power of smart folders - so I'm new at this.

How would I create a smart folder with ONLY a couple specific types of media, or say, all mpegs and avis on a disk, but not using any keyword, I just want all of them displayed. Is this possible? Also, what are all the 'search codes'? Like and, or, not, "" filetype:? etc. are they the same as google's or is there a list I can see somewhere?

Thanks for any help on this

It's a 'saved search' in the form of a 'virtual folder' within the finder.

Create a Smart Folder. For criteria, use Kind and then select the ones you (such as mpeg).

Additionally, once you do that, you can add metadata comments and find them via Spotlight, if you wish.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

In the Tiger Finder, goto the File menu and pick "New Smart Folder"

They're sort of "permanent" Spotlight searches.

Its like an iTunes smart playlist for files, if you use smart playlists at all.
