I'm still surprised that Yorkdale was the first Canadian one.
P.S. There are lots of Mac stores already in Toronto, in addition to the two Apple Stores. I wonder why they're leaving so many other Canadian cities AppleStore-less.

I'm surprised it's out there. Lots of discount and factory outlet stores (Sears) in that mall.

Maybe, but I like it better than Yorkdale. In fact, I like it better than the Eaton Centre.
I still prefer going to places like Carbon Computing though.

Heh, I used to go see Santa Claus in that mall.
…But it's been a few years now.

I applied for the Yorkdale store... something about only wanting people from within the province.

It would be one hell of a commute. Maybe you could crash at SWG's house...

Heeeeeelllll no! My boyfriend is way cuter!
Anywho, I live right in the middle of all 3 stores and work real close to the Eaton centre one so I am a happy camper
I am not surprised that Yorkdale was first. I was talking to this gay guy who is in charge of choosing locations for the Apple Stores and he said Yorkdale was the test market because it is cheaper than the eaton centre and the store is smaller, it is also more upscale than Sherway.
He also said there are quite a few more coming but they are confidential right now.
Something else I found out that was interesting. My friends brother worked as security at Sherway and they told security about 4 months ago they would be opening an Applestore and they would need to increase security for opening. That is one hell of an advance warning.

Cuz obviously he is fits all of the requirements to work there (gay, worked at best buy, lives on the other side of the country and is religious) so they would be willing to fly him to toronto, give him board and then pay him next to nothing.

Exactly what I was thinking!
Haha, for the record if they ever do open a store in Winnipeg I'm totally gonna apply and get a job there... hopefully.
That said I'll probably be moving out of the city within a year after I'm done school.
