Was interested to see what we have around now... Which notebook do you have? (if you have several ones, choose the one you use most).

MBP-maybe one of the last Core Duos, as I got it just before the C2D came out in late Summer, 2005. CPU runs at 2.0GHz, and I've upgraded it to 2GB of RAM. Love it.

Macbook until it can't get my Adobe-itch off.

My last notebook was a G4 PB 867. This may take a while.

edit: But if the pipe dream 12" PB replacement comes out in the meanwhile, I'll be dropping the MB off at my sister's place while en route to the Apple Store......

I'm one of the minorities here.

I had a macbook pro.

I sold it to get a whitebook, then maxxed it out w/ 4gb of RAM/ 160gbHDD, keyboard cover and hardcase. I just wasn't using the graphics card at all. I thought I would play BF2 on it on bootcamp but NEVER got around to it. I was however using Parallels HEAVILY so I knew I needed more than 2gb of RAM that I had in the mbp. SO I sold it and have my current baby which just wipes the catz azz with it....she flys like an angel and nary a problem... well... I'm noticing that I'm having more issues with Leopard, and sadly I can't get tiger on here. IDK how I'm going to get around that, just seems like I'm having more issues with Leopard than Tiger.
Backups are like guns and condoms. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Still chugging along with a PB G4 1.25. Can't afford a new one, and besides, this thing is a tank. I'd hate to give it up because it's such a solid machine. I have towers at home and at work, so when I need heavy lifting, I've got it, and when I need portability I've got it. If I were rich, I'd buy an Air, but I'm not.

Thank God for student loans..

Got my MacBook Today at best buy.. an open box refurb one.. for 1049. Tomarrow im upgrading this to 4GB RAM.. 1GB is just not enough.. Also bought a 22 inch LCD to make this macbook my primary desktop system.. The 22 inch LCD is huge.. So nice though. This is a good replacement to my Mac Mini that I bought in September 2006. Ill try and replace the mac once a year now. anyways Ive been up all night playing with my new toy. And I love it. Migration assistant is amazing.. Ill be using htis macbook every day now.

Lets see, I had but eventually sold a G4 PB, great laptop. I went from the PB to a MacBook thinking the size and toughness of the enclosure was what I wanted but as soon as I started using PS and Apeture I realized that the MB was not going to suit my needs. At the time the MB was not my main computer. I sold that (and my other mac) and picked up a MBP, June 07 edition. It is my main machine it handles everything I throw at it.

My main machine is a 2.2GHz C2D MacBook, but I still have my 800MHz iBook G4. In leaner times I would have sold the iBook, but I'm keeping it around because a) it probably won't sell for much, b) it can run Classic, and c) the DVD drive doesn't have tricky region lock-enforcing business.

iBook G4: 14 inch Early 2004 revision.

AWESOME MACHINE! Yes, I know 32mb ATI 9200 integrated video, 1.07 G4 Single Core processor, with 768 ram is nothing compared to a new Macbook Pro. . . but with a little tweaking it does a lot more than you would expect.

In my signature...

Just upgraded the RAM to 4GB, and the MacBook flies now. I have had a few curious kernel panics since the upgrade (bought Kingston RAM fro NewEgg), but running Fusion & other Mac apps at the same time without slowdowns is really nice. iBook G4 running Leopard works great for the wife too.
-Core i5 MacBook Pro, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM; iBook G4 1.2GHz, 1.25GB RAM
-5G white iPod 30GB; original U2 iPod 20GB mono; now on 32GB Black iPhone 4
-...oh, and a PC too.

for my serious tasks and everyday use, I use my MBP 2.4 santa rosa. If I want something rather small that isn't going to burn my legs after an hour or so of use , I pull out the iBook g4 1.33 that runs pretty well ever since I put a new hd, superdrive and maxxed out the ram in it. Like others have said, it may not be the fastest, but it gets the job done. I like it because the footprint is the size of a sheet of paper and it is running leopard.

I've had my 1.25 PB G4 for about 4.5 years (my first Mac), and I'm beginning to consider upgrading to a MBP (while I can still use my educational discount!).

Unless I decide to wait a while for the next update.
