I occasionally forget to unplug my iPhone before I go to sleep and it winds up Charging overnight (about 6-7 hours). With my nokia it wasn't an issue because it
Would automatically stop charging once the battery is full. What is the situation with the iPhone? Is it bad to leave in the charger overnight?

AFAIK, once the phone is fully charged, it will only continue with a trickle charge, to keep it charged at 100%.

I leave mine in the charger overnight with no worries.

I've always left mine to charge overnight. There's no issue.

Yeah I always leave mine in the dock overnight.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I also almost always charge overnight. Never had an issue either.

Nearly all modern electronics will charge up and then stay topped off with a trickle charge. Leaving your iPhone plugged in all night is to be expected and won't hurt it.

I left my original iPhone plugged in overnight and all day Saturdays for exactly 3 years until I got my iPhone 4 last week. The battery always lasted me through a day of moderate usage with no problems.
