I'm trying to locate an owner of a Mac Pro with the Quadro BTO (or upgrade) added -- has anyone received theirs yet?

thanks!

A few Apple Stores have them on display, so someone should have them.

Not really sure what you're after, but in general the quadro cards aren't expensive because they're such excelent performers, but because they offer certain features (like stereo in a window) that are only required on scientific and CAD workstations.

Curious what you're wanting to test.

The EFI rom from the card itself. It'll be going into a 7800 GTX 512 -- the closest relative to that Quadro card (same PCB, same GPU, a few less traces for the Quadro-specific features). We're very close to getting that card running in the Mac Pro (successful display up to the login window so far). That EFI rom might just do it.

are you part of a developer group, hackers & flashers, or what.....

just curious, since most people usually refer to themselves as "I"
Personally I find it hilarious that you have the hots for my gramma. Especially seeins how she is 3x your age, and makes your Brittney-Spears-wannabe 30-something wife look like a rag doll who went thru WWIII with a burning stick of dynamite up her a** :)

Oh, I have the card and the mac, but not alot of the rom-hacking expertise. So I'm performing tasks by direction and reporting results with some rather more knowledgeable people over at strangedogs. Hence the we

MacUser magazine in the UK recently reviewed the "Ultimate" Mac Pro config which included the Quadro so they must be shipping. Could always drop them a mail

I never saw the point in a Quadro, unless you're doing heavy 3D modeling, spcifically CAD, or need Stereo 3D.

It's actually slower in some tests than the X1900XT. People realize that, right?

Kinda missing the point, Jago. This is just a search for the card so that the ROM from it can be loaded onto a PC 7800 GTX 512 (which is essentially the same card, but faster). Thus allowing another source for high performance gaming and 3D on the Mac Pro.

Bit of a long shot but I noticed that Graphiccelerator supports the Quadro card, wondering if he had to source a ROM for it to be able to add support and if so you may be able to get a copy from him...
