News Story Here Even Robots Can Be Heroes - ScienceNOW
Basically in a nut shell a theory created about 60 years ago called Hamilton's rule attempts to explain the evolutionary advantage of relatives. Basically close family members will usually help each other out even if its detrimental to one or both. In evolution theory it was always a puzzle why close family relatives would sacrifice ones own chances at spreading gens by assisting a relative. The Hamilton's rule says that while sacrificing ones own ability reproduce hence spreed gens by assisting kins, close family members your family gens are more successful as they are very similar to your own.
Experiments with real robots and virtual robots ended up producing results adding validity to the theory through the normal evolution theory standards. Overall its pretty interesting.

Imagine if evolution was finally "proved" using robots? I can't quite put my finger on why that seems totally ****ed up to me.
