From a raw performance standpoint, that makes a lot of sense, the iP6 and previous gen Air aren't slow by anyone's reckoning. I have noticed, however, that multitasking in iOS has benefitted tremendously from the iPad's boost to 2GB, quite a few more apps and browser tabs can remain open without refreshing. It's a fantastic upgrade.

If anything could get me to upgrade from my iPad 2, it would be this. The screen's fine, the performance is fine, the storage (32GB) is good enough, but if I can't have more than 2 browser windows without losing everything I was working on by switching tabs or apps, that's a nightmare.

Check out the new Nokia N10. A direct copy of the iPad, down to a reversible USB connector.

Shame to see Nokia become a KIRF brand, it's probably a cool device.

I don't think Nokia actually made it. They sold the rights to use their brand name to some Chinese company. Which might actually be more shameful really...

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Edit: It's made by the original Finish Nokia company.
They still have the rights to the Nokia brand.
Another nail in the coffin of a once great company.

--------------

I haven't heard of that. Do you have a source ?

I thought Microsoft owned the brand, but opted not to use it anymore.

If I remember the split correctly, Nokia owns the name but cannot produce mobile phones for 5 years or whatever. Tablets apparently doesn't count. MS owns the Nokia sub-brands like Lumia.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Was wondering if anyone here messed with the Chromebooks.

They're completely unusable for someone who needs a computer for graphic design, yeah?

Out of the box, yes, but if you get one based on an Intel architecture you can run a real Linux distribution on them (like Ubuntu) and use Gimp and other image editors like that, or even run Wine, for windows app support. The Pixel is the developer "monster Chromebook", unlocked and totally configurable, with the best fit and finish available. They're expensive, for a small-ish ultrabook, but it all goes into materials, Google doesn't make a dime off them (which is why they only have a very limited number of them built). It's built like a tank, while still weighing only 3 1/2 lbs, and the touchscreen display... geez, it's incredible (better PPI and color than the latest MBP 13, and the Pixel is 2 years old now).

"Little" Huawei is out Appling Apple with their coming smartwatch? This is a fine looking watch, IMO, and will reportedly run a choice of Android Wear (without LTE) or WebOS (with integrated LTE), the latter presumably not requiring a phone for it to function and place/receive calls.

(Yes, the entire watch face is a round, 40mm 360x360 SOLED panel.)
