Adobe showed off a hardware project for drawing it has been working on at its MAX Conference. Project Mighty is a pressure-sensitive stylus for tablets that is connected to the Adobe Creative Cloud, while Napoleon is an accompanying ruler that effectively works as a protractor for Project Mighty to work with in the tablet app.

Mighty connects to Napoleon and the tablet wirelessly, and has been shown to work on an iPad and iPhone. A button on the pen brings up a tool menu for alternative brushes and colors, tools which automatically transfer to different devices Mighty is used on, thanks to its connection to the Adobe Creative Cloud. Normal touching of the display can be set up to perform functions other than drawing, such as erasing items.

Napoleon can be used to display curves and lines on the tablet, with the user able to trace the line accurately using Mighty. The ruler has a number of shapes for different functions, such as arcs and angles. Both the Mighty and Napoleon have rechargeable batteries, and use Bluetooth Low Energy to preserve power.

Though Adobe has demonstrated both Project Mighty and Napoleon, they are still in development. Considering that the devices and their use with a tablet provide a low-cost alternative to the relatively-expensive Wacom Cintiq displays, Adobe may end up releasing the hardware in the future.

That's so cool. Especially the Napoleon mini ruler (it looks like a remote but it's not). It makes drawing straight line straight and curve line perfectly curved.
