I've just put a 256RAM from Kingston and I've seen those weird "Shut down your computer (by holding the power button..."...

I've retired the chip and it looks okay for now.

What is that???????? What does it means. What can I do to correct that?

......

It doesnt feel good....

Thanks!

The message "Shut down etc." means that you just had a kernel panic. If removing the RAM module resolves the problem, then this means that this particular module is defective. You have to return the module to your dealer and ask for a new one.

Was this after you installed the 256 chip? It could be bad RAM.

Yes, it was just after I've put the RAM in.

What is exactly a Kernel Panic?

So, it might be only the RAM?

The thing is that for now it is ok but it might appear again...

Anyway, when the RAM was in, Safari was ****in' up, always shutting down...

Thanks a lot!

It is an unrecoverable system error detected by the kernel, something like kernel crash. For more details, you can see for example this tech. note.

Do some testing: leave your system with the factory memory only for some days to see if the problem returns. If your system runs stable, then the factory hardware configuration is OK. If installing again the new RAM module causes kernel panic, then it should be exactly that module the only reason.

Call whoever you bought the ram from, they should replace it for free. If not, call kingston, they're really good at replacing ram quickly for free.
