Aparantly they have also discovered that the Software Update control panel kills AOL... which means that until they update the Software Update control panel, AOL users won't be able to use it...

This from the Apple OS 9 Forum...

It is about to be posted, and they were testing the Software Update server over the last few days. It was supposed to be internal-only, but apparently they forgot something. : ) Anyway, it wasn't supposed to be visible to the outside yet. It should be posted shortly, both for the auto-update from the Software Update control panel and for the normal Software Updates archive.

The control panel wants to shut down all open applications to begin the install process. However, it is supposed to allow AOL to stay open long enough to download, and it isn't. We found this out earlier this week, and we're looking into it. So, for now, AOL customers cannot use the Software Update control panel, they will have to get updates from the online software archive.
