Hmm....this was the first time I ever looked closely enough at the logo to notice that.

Interesting.

It is in between the E and the x...

Edit: Or should I say, it is made out of the empty space in between the E and the x.

Easily one of the best logo because of excellent color choice and simplicity.

If that impressed you for some reason I am sure you'll pee in your pants with delight after you spot the naked guy in a pack of camels.

the cool thing about fedex is that the guy who founded it, Frederick W. Smith, wrote his term paper about how to ship packages around the world with the central hub in Memphis, Tenn because it is the geographic location in the US. His professors laughed at him, he lost money and took all the money he had left to vegas and gambled on it and won - and was able to pay his eployees. And now they are HUGE.

I head a similar story ... that his idea about overnight delivery earned him a "C" on the paper he wrote about it. I never heard the Vegas part.

Interesting Krusty trivia. His daughter Jessica lived on my Freshman hall. I didn't really know her but one of my better female friends roomed with her. Whenever I went over to visit my friend, I noticed the family pics J. Smith had on the wall. Very cute pics of kids playing with toys in a bubble bath .... um .. in a GIANT tub made of white marble with what appeared to be fixtures made of real gold.

If no one ever sees it, I really don't see the poing of working so hard to get it. What a waste of time. It's a smart idea that makes you like it less when you see how hard to see it is.

That's pretty cool. It's a sort of 'easter-egg' in one of the most ubiquitous and simple logos in the world. The interview with the designer was interesting too. Now I know I am definitely not cut out to be a logo designer!

Cheers!

NorthWest Airlines old logo is better than FedEx's for imagery. They lost the pure simplicity with the new one. They need to go back.

Well, while we're at it, I still don't know what that old Expos logo means.

storer's been out-smarted by a logo.

Have you considered that it might not be necessary to be *consciously* aware of it?

Of course, some people are not even going to be *sub*consciously aware of it, and some people don't appreciate clever design when it smacks them in the face.

They prefer to feel insulted for not having got it, I guess.

What the...? Out smarted by a logo? Insulted by a logo? Whatever.

It's a very smart idea, and I find it amazing that they found it in the first place. However, I found it sort of silly that it isn't a little more obvious. It does give you a bit of a "oh, I didn't notice that!" This isn't as satisfying as some people have said.

I noticed it a few months ago...very clever. Did you hear the Expos will now be the Nationals with red white and blue uniforms.
