Hey guys,
I have searched the forums yesterday and today for battery issues for my specific pbook and have tried to let it drain all the way down 3 times now then recharge it but i still get the calculating message. The ring on my adapter keeps changing from green to orange when it gets around the 85% mark doesn't go past 89% at most. Even as i am typing this i am watching my power cable change from green to orange every now and again. Anyone seen, heard, or know about this issue? I have tried two different power adapters and both are giving me this problem. Anyway, ttthe battery icon is the 'plug' icon and hovering around 85%, is it time to get a new battery or is this a sign of a more serious problem? These are my 'power' stats:

Given that my Full Charge Capacity is 4134 mAh and yours is only 1222 (yet my PB is just as old or older than yours) I would say that your battery is nearly dead. I've only gone through 192 charge cycles compared to your 385, so I would say that this is the likely difference.
The original capacity of mine was 4400 mAh, fwiw.

JKT,
Thanks for your quick reply. I will look into purchasing a new battery. I wonder if i use one of those after market ones with "higher capacity" i have been seeing in the back of Mac Addict and Mac World would 1) void my apple care? and 2) really be that much different than buying a plain old replacement from Apple? Ugh, anyway, thanks for the quick reply.

Also Fastmac is the only company that offers a 2 year warranty on their iPod batteries. Everyone else is 1 year at most.

I was also thinking of getting a faster hard drive as well but thats a new post entirely... anyway, thanks for the hlep you guys. I bought this computer in April of 05 and was hoping to get a little bit more life out of the battery but i guess its just not meant to be .

UPDATE:
Even if the battery is fully charged when i unplug it from the adapter the computer shuts down sometimes with a the fan going insane butmost of the time just black screen. then when i plug it back in i have to restart it and ti gives me the 'your clock is set to 1968..." or whatever that message is. could this be a sign of a bigger problem or is it really my battery is dead. i mean even when i plug it back in after it shuts down it still shows my battery at 100% or so.
Help again all of you knoweledge bowl winners.
love,
the panda
