Why does the CD hang after it rerestarts(after CD kicks in and happy mac). After the CD's bootX restarts, the monitor turns off as if it is restarting, and never turns back on. The CD stops spinning, and everthing comes to a standstill. The comp green light it on, but nothing will do anything. Its frozen! No screen either, so no diagnosis.

I have:
zapped PRAM
CuDA
init HD
unplugged SCSI
startup from: "C", "Startup Disk", "Install App"

The wierd part is that I had it started up off of the CD yesterday, but chose not to install becuase I didn't have the right HD hooked up, then I come back and NOTHING! Same thing also happened with PBCD. IT NOW has the same problem! What is wrong! I have a beige G3 300 Dt.

I am having the same problem on my G4/400. Norton Systemworks is reporting 2 partition map errors. The surface check checks out. I'm going to try removing my additional ram...
