and I wanted to import some movies, I hooked up the usb 2.0 wire .. Nothing appeared on my iMac G5 desktop ? I even tried to open iMovie HD application.. i couldnt find anything to import my movies?

you need to hook up the firewire connection. USB isn't a supported data transfer medium in iMovie or Final Cut Pro
Quicksilver 867, 700mhz iBook, 1st Gen iPod, iSight, Newton 2100, and a 128k Mac. All operating and used on a constant Basis
