Last night I was running Speed Disk on my large external FireWire hard drive. During the 'wiping free space' phase I accidently turned on a small FireWire hard drive. Everything locked up and I was forced to do a hard reboot. Now nothing shows up on the FireWire bus. I've tried PRAM reset, unplugging everything and plugging in one thing at a time. Nothing changes by starting up on different disk under 9.2.

Any ideas?

So nothing works on the firewire bus??? or do you mean the HD does not mount.

If it is the firewire bus, you coulod try and save the data by moving the IDE hd inside a tower.

Does the firewire HD mount another MAC?

I have a couple of firewire scanners and a CDRW. Nothing shows up. I havn't tried to connect to another computer but later I will try my Powerbook. I tried booting on the Hardware Diagnostic CD but I end up in the Firmware screen evertime.

I just plugged everything into the Powerbook. It all worked fine. Which is good, but means theres something wrong with my computer. I have now tried everything to 'reset' the bus. Including taking the battery out. If there are any Apple techs out there please throw me a bone.
