The move will mean that he will now be allowed to perform Satanic rituals on board the vessel.

some of the "satan" doctrine is not what you think

some of it is even more optimistic and less gory than some traditional religious views

Nothing wrong with this, good for him. Although, LeVeyans are a bit of a joke in the Satanic community (often referred to as "Satanism-lite"), similar to the way Wiccans are looked at by other pagans. Most Leveyans are simply "pop-Satanists", looking for ways to rebel and see it as a way to shock others, but they grow out of it. Typically, whenever a LeVeyan meets a true LHP (Left Hand Path) believer for the first time, they almost soil their shorts.

At any rate, good on him, though I'm sure he'll have a rough go of it with his shipmates.

My british friend on the floor told me about this... nearly wet myself laughing...

Now can the UK have Jedi-Satinists in the Navy?

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

Meaning Lucifarian as opposed to Satanic.

it's basically all the same. a big run-off-the mill ego trip. any form of "satanism" has to do essentially with self fulfillment/reliance. in practice it runs the gammot anywhere from praying to magikal stones and trees to fu<king little kiddies in order to feel more powerful. meh. to each his own i guess.

If killing people from hundreds of miles away without a fighting chance is not a Satanic ritual in itself, i dont know what is.

i just want to say i'm completely neutral

i'm betting you meet this guys and he's an average joe. i certainly don't think he's worse than a basketball player who sleeps with hundred of women a year and leaves the pregnant ones to fend for themselves.

whether a dude is bad or not should be determined in the choices they make in life rather than their beliefs

LeVeyan's aren't Lucifarians, different animal all together. Lucifarians believe in Lucifer as the "Light Bearer", and see him as being largely misunderstood.

when reading the second part of my post, it doesn't sound too much different from catholicism for example, you're right. except of course for the "praying to magikal stones and trees" part.

Since Satan was God's right hand man for ions before breaking away and forming a new competing club...I see no problem. All Gods must be accepted equally.

I know that, that's what I was trying to point out when you mentioned "true" left hand type people, I was assuming you meant Lucifarian rather than Satanic.

It's odd actually... The LHP has come to represent any individual who breaks from the norm in relation to standard religion, philosophy, and personal growth. So, I would venture to say that Lucifarians, Satanists, Setites, etc. are all followers of the Left Hand Path. Personally, I don't follow any designation of that sort, RHP or LHP it makes no difference to me, for me it's about whatever it takes to get what I need or want done.

I do agree with the "team work" thing. If this guy is a devote satanist, it wouldn't be good in a situation where a soldier has to help out a comrade at the risk of his/her own life. A satanist would save himself before anyone else.

...completely against political racism!

SATAN WORE SATIN

SHE SOFTLY CAME TO ME A DRINK IN HER HAND
HER BODY WAS SAYIN' SHE NEEDED A MAN
SO SWEET AND TENDER AND FILLED WITH DESIRE
SHE SMILED AND BEGUILED ME RIGHT INTO THE FIRE

I LIE HERE THINKIN' WITH HER NEXT TO ME
SHE WASN'T THE HEAVEN I THOUGHT SHE WOULD BE
IT'S THE FIRST TIME I'VE CHEATED LORD LOOK WHAT I'VE DONE
THE DEVIL KEPT TEMPTING TILL HE FINALLY WON

YES, OLD SATAN HE WORE SATIN AND RIBBONS AND LACE
WITH THE LOOK OF AN ANGLE ALL OVER HER FACE
YES, OLD SATAN HE WORE SATIN SUCH A LOVELY DISGUISE
HE CAPTURED MY SOUL WITH HER SWEET LOVIN' LIES

AT HOME SOMEONE'S WAITIN' WHO'S FAITHFUL AND TRUE
IF SHE EVER FINDS OUT LORD WHAT WILL I DO
THE DEVIL IS CLEVER HE'S NEVER THE SAME
AND NOW I'M A LOSER IN HIS OLDEST GAME

YES, OLD SATAN HE WORE SATIN AND RIBBONS AND LACE
WITH THE LOOK OF AN ANGLE ALL OVER HER FACE
YES, OLD SATAN HE WORE SATIN SUCH A LOVELY DISGUISE
HE CAPTURED MY SOUL WITH HER SWEET LOVIN' LIES
