This is a petition to Macnn to move iPod discussion out of the Peripheral Forum into its own.

Just because it doesn't get a lot of activity means that maybe pda's shouldn't have their own forum. Oh, for clarity, I voted yes, it makes more sense than some of these forums. Might I suggest to anyone how has an interest in iPods, www.ipodlounge.com

The iPod has grown enough to warrant its own forum, in my opinion. Especially now with it's PDA-like functions and, of course, Windows version, there will be even more to talk about.

I wouldn't merge it with the PDA forum though. You know that once Apple releases its new Tablet/PDA, business in that forum will pick up

If we followed that "one already exist and there aren't that many Mac users about there anyways" logic, there would be no MacNN. I iPod is growing in numbers and it would be a nice to have a forum in MacNN. I mean we have "Linux on Macs", that doesn't appear to get that many hits (not knocking it, just making a point), and there are a few others.

I just counted 16 threads that were created within the last 4 days regarding the iPod. I'm convinced the iPod should have it's own forum.

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!

Ipod should have it's own forum as although it is a peripheral it is also an apple product unlike other peripherals.

Yes, yes! As Evangellydonut said, the iPod's uniqueness and relevance only become more apparent as Apple add/release new features for it. And just think, once the iPod for Windows starts shipping, we might see some serious questions from PC users

nah, ipod doesn't need or deserve it's own forum. it should be in the same place as all other portable mp3 players, which are a class of peripheral. if the rate of ipod topics was such that topics about other things were getting drowned, it might be considered, but even with ipod topics the activity level in periphs is so low that there really is no reason to split the forum up into smaller pieces.

The iPod may be just an MP3 player, but it is so integrated into the whole
Mac system that it should have it's own forum.
Thanks in advance.

I definitely think their should be an iPod forum!!!! Whenever I go to the Peripherals forum, I am just looking for iPod topics! I also really enjoy reading what other people have to say about iPods. Heck, Apple Discussion boards has its own iPod forum, MacNN should too!
