I hate OS X 10.2.6! At no time since the public beta have I seen so much beachball time...

often, programs throw hissy fits such that you get interminable beachball time..the only solution is to force quit. what I experience in 10.2.6 is that often, after 10 attempts force quitting, the misbehaved app is still running, beachball a spinnin'!

Using process viewer's force quit feature doesn't help.

Any Uber quit solution?

thank you!

Open a Terminal, type top, get the PID number of the offending app, open a new terminal window type kill -9 and the PID number.

I've seen some apps survive that too, not much you can do but try and log out. Sometimes you can't even do that.

You could kill loginwindow, that'll kill everything and drop you back at the login screen if I'm not mistaken.

Not a good thing to do at all but if you must...
