It's the late 2004 model - I got it in December of 2004. It's an $800 repair cost to replace the processor unit. Some highlights:
- Broken Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5
- 1.5GB PC3200 (400MHz) of RAM (512MB are stock, 1GB came from Crucial)
- ATI RADEON 9600 XT with 128MB DDR SDRAM, DVI and ADC ports
- 160GB Serial ATA; 7200 rpm (I haven't decided if I'll sell this, but I'm listing it just in case)
- Three full-length PCI-X slots: one 133MHz, 64-bit slot and two 100MHz, 64-bit slots
- AirPort Extreme ready (based on 802.11g specification; IEEE 802.11b Wi-Fi certified)
- Bluetooth
Check the full list here (it's the M9455LL/A model): http://support.apple.com/specs/power...Late_2004.html
I've seen similar systems for about $1700-$1800 on eBay. Lets say $1700 for a working system; it'll take $800 to repair mine, so that's $900. How does that sound? Well, I'll entertain almost any offer, but I needed a price to post, so that's what I came up with.
Thanks for looking!

Hate to bust your bubble but I haven't seen a system like yours fetch anywhere near $1800 on eBay in quite some time. That's Dual 2.7GHz money.
From what I'm seeing lately, Dual 1.8GHz-2GHz models are fetching between $1000 and $1200.

Yea.. I'd have to agree with lateralus. And, this is the older of the dual 2.0 models. (granted, the older one had 8 ram slots and the newer one had just 4)
A friend of mine just sold a similar system, the newer 2.0 with 2 GB of RAM for $1100.
You would make more parting it out probably, but that's a lot of hassle. I'd be willing to offer something... but nothing close to your asking price.

No worries; thanks for clearing it up.

I don't want to go through the hassle. How much?

If you're parting out, I'd be interested in the ram.

I haven't decided yet if I'll do or not. I'll let you know, though. Just out of curiosity, how much?

Yup. I took it to the Apple Store where the initial diagnosis by the genius was a bad power supply. That's what I thought as well. That was going to cost $300. Then when they opened it up they figured out it was actually the processor unit; an $800 repair. The $800 includes labor, so I suppose if you can find a third party that charges less for labor, you could fix it for less. Or, if you're brave enough and decided to fix it yourself, it'd be a lot less, I reckon.

What is the least you'd take for the system?

Something around the lines of $300. Most of the offers I got were at around $200, though.

I just wanted to add that, as an Apple-certified repair technician, if you don't know what you're doing when replacing a G5's processors, you can easily ruin the logic board by bending pins where they mount. There are also some special tools required, like long ball-head hex drivers. I provide this only for information's sake, not to scare anyone away from this repair. Just be sure you know what you're up against.
