I saw the insides of a new Dual 800 Quicksilver and it looked a lot different than mine. I thought it would be neet to post pictures of our motherboards to show how they have changed through the versions.
Mine is a Dual 500MHz (Gigabit Ethernet)

I have a dual 800, and I can grab the pics of it's guts too
It's different alright, the heatsink is at what would be, from his picture, the bottom right, and it's really shaped like a brick.
A black squarish duct has a fan it it, which blows air through that heatsink..
The ram is almost in the same place, but theres' no USB controller (little heatsink), this is where the famous slowdown comes with using certain USB periphials, something I still havent noticed.
I'll post my motherboard's pics in a few mins.

I'm not quite as photo happy as Mr. JoePC but I decided to post some more pictures from the Dual 800. I hope that these will be a little bit clearer. Here we go...

I would kinda worry having my RAM so close to that huge heat sink!

The small heatsink on the motherboard is for the gigabit ethernet, not USB. I believe it's on the bottom of the motherboard on the Quicksilvers.

I don't see that anywhere, might it be under that huge daughter card?

If the G4 heatsink gets REALLY hot, the ram can overheat, the damn thing is almost touching the heatsink..
I'm going to move my ram sticks down to the bottom 2 slots because of that, it might be why this machine freezes so often, but it is true, that thing is crowded
Especially because one side of the motherboard is jam packed, one side is almost empty
Where do you get a pretty anime girl pic like that? :/ I want one!

They should have left the ram on the left side and just turned it the other direction.
Does your heatsink really get that hot, mine stays really cool.

Yeah, to me I think something's wrong.. when I'm crunching in RC5, it'll get VERY hot (it almost hurts to touch)
Anyone know a good temp monitor I can get?
