I was in the Apple store in Lyndhurst Ohio today, and they had a table with a bunch of stuff marked down... including 4 or 5 15" Powerbooks and a couple 17" models. The boxes appeared to be unopened so I assume that they were new. I could be mistaken, but as far as I know Apple doesn't sell refurbished models through their retail stores.
So, does this mean they're trying to clear inventory for new Powerbooks?
Personally, I'm waiting to upgrade from my Pismo until the G5 Powerbooks come out. I doubt that's going to be anytime soon, but I can wait.

When the Apple stores sell open box items and returns in the store they call them "refreshed".
