Okay so I let the dog out this evening and she's sniffing around a small hole. I start approaching her and BOOM! She crams her head into the hole and pulls out a baby bunny. I yell for her to drop it which she promptly does and the bunny limped off. Out pops another baby bunny and it too limped off. I'm guessing the first one limped off because it may have been injured and I'm guessing the second one and/or both are in shock. The bunnies are grown enough with fur and are walking around. They built the nest right where the dog's favorite poop spot is. How ignorant is this?

I'm reading various bits of advice from calling animal control to letting the dog eat them. I'm not much for the advice I've gotten. Let me ask someone (maybe ghporter?) How long before these young'ns are grown and the nest is abandoned?

Yeah not a bad plan, but I'd still have to baby-sit the dog. It wouldn't be long before this is pulled away.

I've not seen this idea before. Does this keep the dog away from that area or drive the rabbits from the nests prematurely? Would it be enough to detract the dog from her instinct of feeding on baby bunnies?

There's another wrinkle to all this. I've got family coming in from various parts of the country starting Friday night and I was hoping this mess would be resolved by then.

One well timed match and your dog will never crap there again.

I would assume the warren has several entrances, block off your entrance with board, and they will get out somewhere else....probably.

That's the oldest trick in the book.

As soon as you let down your guard, out comes the third bunny with a shank.

How about if you pooped in the bunny hole? This would keep both the dog and the bunnies away from this spot.

This is called marking your territory.

Please videotape it, if you do. There is a possibility that one of the bunnies will bite your ass while you're doing it, and you'll run screaming with bunny hanging from your ass. You should not deprive the world of such footage.

Well, he might have to do it while the bunnies are out for a walk, or maybe he could leave a bunch of carrots somewhere to distract them, or maybe a chocolate bunny to confuse them?

Maybe if he dressed up as a bunny it might fool them too. I would suggest doing this - it can't hurt, and it will make the footage better too!

Wait till you have a couple score bunnies around.
You'll be looking for a second dog that's hungrier.

I would fence the burrow off, before your dog eats them all.

I had two large bunnies in my backyard when I was 12 years old, it didn't take much time before they were 12 small bunnies. It took a long wile to catch all the bunnies (just sit down and be patient outside a hole). My friend and I sold a few to a pet shop and the rest were lost at our school playground They were great to impress classmates with

Unlikely, lions live in the north pole and antelopes live in the south pole, so its very unlikely the two will ever meet.
