What we saw in July was supposedly taped in February, I think.

I recall reading or hearing something about them taping 5 shows a day (when they tape, that is).

At this point everything is just a rumor. If he lost, I can't believe he would do it intentionally.

I think when he does lose, it is going to be because he risked a lot and screwed up some mundane detail. Or perhaps just put a decimal in the wrong place.

If the report is true, ~2.5 million. After taxes and other crap I'd guess he will end up with an amount under 2 million.

Ken is officially the "All-Time Top Game Show Winner" with today's game...he ended at:

$2,190,000

The old record was $2,180,000 by Kevin Olmstead on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in 2001...

I was hoping he walks away after 75 instead of being beaten.

From what I understand, you're given a list of topics that may or may not be covered by the show. A lot of them, but only some of them will be used, obviously. I'm guessing this guy has a photographic and/or phonographic memory and just knows every single topic in detail.

I have a feeling that after this, people with *.graphic memories won't be allowed to play... err, won't make it past their screening process.

D'oh!

I blame FedEx. I knew MacNN was talking about FedEx for a reason recently...

Jennings incorrectly provided the question for the following Final Jeopardy answer: "Most of this firm's 70,000 seasonal, white-collar employees work only four months a year.'' He wrote "What is FedEx?'' and lost $5,601, ending with $8,799. Nancy Zerg, a Realtor from Ventura, California, won $14,401 after correctly answering "What is H&R Block?"

Sorry, my above statement was wrong. Ken entered Final Jeopardy at $14,400 and then lost the $5,601 bet to finish at the $8,799 stated above.

I think he took a dive. I've got no evidence; it's just a hunch. I think the Jeopardy producers told Ken that they needed new blood and that they'd give him another million to intentionally lose.

Either way, good on him.

This was a relatively easy FJ question and I can't believe he missed it. He looked tired throughout the whole game and just didn't seem himself. Congrats, Ken!

Is that his social commentary on the work ethics of FedEx or did he blow it on purpose?

Even I knew it was going to be SOME kind of accounting firm!

No, I think he thought that most FedEx workers work the Christmas rush - September thru December.

Or maybe he did blow it on purpose. Maybe he wanted to go home and he already broke all the records - there's nothing more to do.

I didn't know the answer instantly, but once I thought about 'white collar', I got it. I don't think that FedEx workers are considered 'white collar'.

That is very impressive, but all good things must come to an end.

It sucked here. A news commercial came on during the commercial break before final jeapordy saying what the reaction was to Ken finally losing. Talk about a spoiler, god Arizona news blows.

Woulda been nice if he lost on purpose, but he just got unlucky. He got both double jeapordy's and bet like usual. They were really tough questions though. I was actually thinking that they rigged it with unusually hard questions to hope he had a small enough total money to be beaten. He's had a few close calls when people were actually close enough to beat him that it makes sense.

Anyways, he missed both of them, losing roughly $10,000 and I think he was out of it enough to not come up w/ H&R. Oh well for him, no more pressure and he still gets to come back at the end of the year for Jeapordy championship w/ a cool 2.5 mill already to his name. Sucks to be him.

At least your station waited until Nov 30. I saw the episode last Friday. There were so many problems during Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy that my wife and I joked that their interns must be running the station. The station General Manager had to answer to Sony because of the mistake.
