here is the story, my mom got my brother the new ipod for christmas, he tried to run it on his powerbook g4 and it didnt work. he brought it to the apple store and they told him that his version of mac os didnt run the new ipod classic, and that he had to buy a version of a newer OS, the problem is they had none in stock and it is $150. I told him i have the back up discs for a new version from my MBP. So I put in the disc and hit intall restart and i got this screen: Unable to find driver for this platform "powerbook 6.4". Now I try to restart it and it keeps coming back to this page and won't eject my disc...any ideas???Thanks in advance!!!

Hold down the mouse button when you boot and it will eject the disc.

It's not possible, because they use incompatible cpu architectures. Furthermore it's illegal and one of the most-asked questions on this forum.

the macbook pro backup disk is designed to run only a macbook pro.

what version of osx do you currently have on your powerbook?

By the way, I'd bet you can get 10.3 pretty cheap on eBay by now, which is enough to run iTunes.
