If you are a hot wheels collector you know who hot wheels amy is. I was wondering what happend to get her fired? i know this is not the proper forums to ask this sort of question but no one in the hot wheels world wants to discuss this.

I swear, people put too much into these little toys. they should all stop spending their money on hot wheels and get G5s. heh

She got fired yesterday or the day before, she was a moderator in the hotwheelscollectors.com forums. She was also well known and respected aprerantly by the whole hot wheels community. Also, since she was the only female moderator she was well liked. She had her fans too, and her set of cars as well.

i dont follow the hot wheels world any more but this is bugging me today, especially, since there is no mention of it anywhere on any hot wheels forum. Its all word of mouth.

You're out of the loop. Mattel bought Matchbox around 10 years ago, so Hot Wheels and Matchbox are products of the same company know.

Matchbox collectors know to stay from anything post-Lesney anyway.

Wow ... it's been at least that long since I've purchased Matchbox.

Please update me: What's post Lesney?

Are my 30+ year old Matchbox cars worth anything?

Indeed. Or Corgi.

True Matchbox were made by Leland, IIRC.

Lesney was purchased by Universal Toys in 1982, and production moved from England to Macau. In 1992, Matchbox was sold to Tyco. In 1997, Mattel bought the company.

Pre-1982 models have heavier metals in the bottom and say something to the effect of "Made in England by Lesney".
