Whatever you do don't position your iSight camera as it is shown by Apple on the FP iMac.

On the Apple web site they show the iSight cenrally mounted above the iMac screen, where it looks best.

BUT if you read the iSight manual it tells you not to stick it there as it will be over the Apple Logo and might not adhere properly.

What they really mean it, the iSight adhesive is stronger than the Apple Logo adhesive, so that if you want to reposition your iSight it rips off the logo.

This happened to me today, both the Apple and the Leaf from the logo were stuck hard to the removed iSight sticky pad.

I did manage to replace them and they look OK, but they can get bent in the process as they are real metal plate, not foil or paint.

My iSight is now stuck at one side of my iMac screen, it looks bad there as well, unbalanced.

Another reason the sticker is the worst idea ever from Apple.

Well that and the round iMac mouse.

is there another type of mounting system [or method to mount] where you don't have to "stick" the mount on anything?

I prefer something like the powerbook's method, where it just "sits" on the top ledge of the screen.

Before you order from them, you might want to check out MacIntouch's report on this company.

Read the thread carefully, I have an iMac not an Apple Display.

The last suggestion will not work on an FP iMac.

Can you use the laptop clip on the iMac?

Wow, it really surprises me that Apple didn't think this out at all. C'mon, adhesive?

ya, the hockey puck mouse was the best of all time. Maybe if neanderthals would quit laying their entire forearm on the mouse and use a little finesse...

I never had a problem with my hockey puck my only concern was that it was a roller ball and not optical otherwise I'd still use it.

And you have to adhere it to your Mac? How about for iBooks?

I started moving my mouse way up on my desk so that I could take the pressure off of my wrist. I started a job a couple of years ago that required frequent mouse use and my wrist was so sore after a couple of days I actually switched to moving it with my left hand. To me, it's now very comfortable to have the mouse somewhere up by my monitor, well past the keyboard.

My 2 cents.
