I'm working on a Flash interface that features 'drifting' clouds in the background. The clouds are just a long JPG that tracks by, but it seems to move rather jerky. I've tried higher frame rates, lower frame rates, easing in & out and reducing my JPG quality, but nothing seems to work. Any advice?

See the work in process here.

Thank you guys. I guess it will always be subject to the machine/browser/plug-in, etc. As long as it doen't look horrible I'll go with it.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have sub-pixel control in Flash, but it's not going to happen in a hurry.

I've had a few jobs like this, whereby the subject matter needs to move slowly and it's because of the leap from pixel to pixel that makes it jerky - for slow-moving items there needs to be a half or quarter step per frame to make it feel more realistic.

I'd suggest making it more dramatic, like a time-lapse sunrise...

Nah, looks fine to me too!
Computer thez nohhh...
