I am looking for games to play across an aiport network and I was wondering which people would recommend as the best. Id partic like Pool/Snooker type games or card games as well as any other massive shoot em up types. Any thoughts?

You could try Worms 3D as this is a turn based strategy / shooter / cartoon with a bit of comedy.

Anyway I would say away from games that need fast reactions as the lag over airport networks can be quite high at time and it can make playing FPS games frustrating.

Good luck in the search!

Well, my friends and I played a lot of Warcraft 2 last weekend to reminisce. The Halo demo is free and fun, UT2004 is okay too. Look around on MacGameFiles.com, and you can probably find some good ones.

Try AOE Gold, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2 or NWN. All of these are great games, though none are shooters.

I'll add Starcraft if your systems are a little older. A few games of hot-seat civilization running at the same time can be fun as well.

Add Starcraft whether or not your systems are old. That game is just fun.

UT 2k4 runs just fine on my 1ghz 17" PB G4. It ran fine out of the box and even better now that i have a gig of ram. It's good enough to play online against those PC guys with the massively tricked out systems. It's always funny to pull out my mac laptop at the lan parties at school and watch the pc guys' jaws drop that it actually plays pretty well. Especially when I frag them .

Wait, what? Are you saying that airport networks have higher lag than other wireless networks?

Should I buy a wireless Netgear or 3com router instead?
