MacTheRipper won't start with this beta1 enabled. Otherwise, fantastic.

Works fine for me with any Intel/Universal apps. Having a lot of trouble with anything from Microsoft Office 2004 - I can only launch 1 PPC app (i.e. MS Word, Entourage, Excel). Any subsequent launches just fail. If I restart, I can launch the first app and all is fine.

Excluding the apps from Shapeshifter has no effect, problem persists. Perhaps an issue with Rosetta?

Nope. I saw a new beta last night, it solved the problem for a bit, but anything running in Rosetta refuses to launch after a bit.

You can use this command as a workaround (grabbed from Unsanity http://www.unsanity.org/archives/hax...t.php#comments)

sudo killall translated

I am not to familiar with this. I looked up Shapeshifter a while ago, but let me get this straight:

Shapeshifter is a program that changed what your borders and windows and bars, etc look like, and all of the GUI customization thread is, is people using Shapeshifter and making thier own themes? You download them and install them just like any other program? How large are the files? This new beta release if for the new Intel-chipped Macs, yes?

The only reason I ask is because a while ago, as stated, I asked an Apple Genius and he said not to touch the stuff, so I did. I am beginning to learn all of the modifications anyone can do to thier Macs.

Even being a "haxie", ShapeShifter (or at least the way it takes care of GUI things) can be considered safe software. Read more about it at Unsanity.com.
The present public beta version, as any beta software, can cause problems though - and the developper is very clear about it in his warning to use it.

I understand the Apple Genius and anyone who wants to run a clean machine, and how they are reluctant about haxies - but I use my mac professionally about 15 hours each and every day, believe me : I can't afford an unstable computer. Yet, ShapeShifter is my number one
