The NFL no likey: ABC News: NFL Sacks Church Super Bowl Parties
Is it the entrance fee the only thing the NFL doesn't like? Like, if there was an optional donation, would the NFL be cool with this? Or does the NFL not like the fact that people come together in one big place to watch an event? Which makes me wonder... why doesn't the NFL go after bars that have cover charges?

Because bars pay extra to be able to do that.

He explained that the league's contracts with television networks play a role, since the networks are concerned about large viewing parties skewing down their Nielsen ratings.
The NFL probably wouldn't care, but the TV networks do. The Nielsen ratings that determine how much they get paid, so anything that decreases those is Bad For America.
