Jawbone, your building needs some kind of supports that looks like they are taking the weight of the upper floors. Even fake cantileve beams would do the trick. I've found that if you build something massive, but don't properly show its weight being supported, it tends to look wonky.

My goodie chest. Coal stacks are all extra, all my furnaces are kept topped off.

I'd have at least 11 more Diamond, if I didn't keep finding clusters and jumping into lava.

Slime ball, you get them for killing slimes, but otherwise useless. Definitely not something I'd use for jewelry

1.5 is out. If you plan on playing online I wouldn't update your client until Blaze announces the server has been upgraded.

So far, the word on the powered tracks has been meh. Sounds like they're marginally faster than the powered cart.

Looks like the server will be waiting for 1.5_1 and they fix the detector track crash. I'll experiment this evening and see if it crashes the server as well as the client. (with a different server instance.)

Yeah, that looks like the way to go.

Current list of known identified bugs for 1.5 SMP:

1. booster rails sometimes stay powered even though source is gone
2. detector rails crash client when other rails are placed nearby
3. grass side fix doesnt work- the color is stuck the same - Xun, maybe that's what you're seeing?
4. advanced opengl broken- does nothing noticeble
5. rain and snow go thru glass, stairs and leaves on fast graphics
6. if you jump on a fence you get kicked for flying
7. playing 1.5 servers will send lots of unknown packets to 1.5 clients
8. sometimes rain can crash client
9. for some people new items will look pink
10. for some people weather never shows up
11. oclusion culling non existant - Questioning this one, any feedback from GAF on 1.5?
12. sometimes chunk generating causes chunk render failures
13. for some people the message of "press i to see inventory" wont go away
14. some people cant get achievement at all
15. /list only shows first 2 lines
16. you can no longer place blocks directly on snow cover, except flowers saplings and mushrooms
17. weather effects are extremely rare in general
18. grass side fix stops working completely on fast graphics
19. advanced opengl creates many more chunk render issues
20. for some people updating to 1.5 and playing without restarting client will disable sound and music partly
21. 1.5 clients playing 1.4 servers will error servers greatly due to unknown packets
22. if you are alone on SMP/first that logs on/own the server (1 of the 3) achievements will work on SMP
23. you are unable to turn booster and detector rails

These are bugs that have been identified by the development team of the CraftBukkit modification platform.

I imagine they'll be starting a zero, however.

Doubt they'll separate SP and SMP.

sek, will you be on tonight?

Weird. I must have turned that off in options.

With the tree farm complete, I went exploring tonight. Found some serious area, including a dungeon. After meeting resistance in another area I had been trying to explore I enlisted fatty to accompany me and we forged ahead, fatty using his intuition to take an odd right through some gravel, discovering a new area. Taking turns fighting off zombies, at one point damn near did me in as fatty spyed what must have been gold.

After recovering he took the lead and we pushed against the zombies, discovering a dungeon. We dove in, but its odd layout caused sporadic spawning and fatty fell. Placing torches I began to gather his things and place them in one of the chests when a zombie somehow spawned in the light and dropped me before I realized what happened. I rushed to join fatty and weaponless I scrambled back to the area, which was confusingly zombieless. We recovered all our items.

At this point I realized it was getting kind of late, so we started heading back. Not a crazy successful outing, but we made some good progress and it was handy to have a partner.

A portion of spoils will be going towards completing the Fatland-Dakar Railway, which has been revised for increased awesomeness and better location.

It's a little worrisome that they had to send out two bug fixes in a day. That's sloppy.

Also, I'm flabbergasted at how the official forums view rolling back point versions. Not only is it frowned upon, but some people were going nuts calling it illegal and quoting it being against the Terms and Conditions. Crazy talk.

Yeah, after last night I need to craft some armor for dungeon crawling, and a bow would be a wise addition as well.

I may need to add a bedroom down in Processing, too, to speed up the recover process after a death. That seems to be my main launching point for exploration.
Actually, I should probably have my elevator end there, rather than level 13.

In the future a minecart to seks might not be a bad idea, either...

Right now my mining / caving operation is 4 fights of stairs and a looong drop down the shaft of the water elevator away. closer to a minute away than five. And I've got a spare set of armor & tools ready to grab for the sprint down. in the advent of my untimely death carrying anything valuable. But I have a staging area where I can double back to and drop my loot or replace worn out tools. I started doing this after a creeper blew me into lava wearing full iron armor.

I have a water elevator, but my bedroom is on the ground floor and thanks to the limitations of the hill I built myself into, the elevator entrance is a floor below (and it's designed to take me to the level above bedrock, which is two levels below processing. Just poor planning all around).

I have a feeling I'll be doing some redesign and restructuring to the upper levels this weekend. Now that things are in use I should be able to lay things out better.

Singleplayer minecraft now seems kind of quiet.

Storming dungeons as a group gives one the long-awaited opportunity to holler, "cover me!" as you jump in the fray...

If only it were that cool. Far as I can tell you can't avoid taking damage from a zombie when you attack it, and having to type commands becomes a major risk when you're trying to juke and stab.

You need to swing from further away, the attack ranges feel off to me to. They can damage your from outside of their apparent arms reach. It's really odd when your dealing with armless slimes.

Does this mean I should invest in a headset w/ microphone? There are (or were) a number of voice services aimed at coop gaming.

Okay the server is 1.5_2 now. I haven't played with the new rails yet though.
I am however not getting any passive mob spawning indoors.

Two things:

Love the railway between us Dakar, also served as a tutorial for my own use of the new, awesome powered rails.

I finally have my trip from top to bottom, and powered all the way back up. Switches included. Give it a ride.

Also, went out side in the rain. This game has gotten a lot cooler.

Out of curiosity, are you aware of the tunnel to my place out behind Bogues' house? Either way, I'm sure I can throw another branch off to connect to your place.
